I half-assed these Death Company lads for an upcoming grand tournament. I basically drybrushed these guys and I'm not happy with them, but I'll go back and give them a proper coat of paint if I have more time. 

I ordered some Army Painter Hydra Turquoise spray and dropper bottle for a new homebrew Space Marine chapter. However, the spray paint and bottled paint do not match, even after a vigorous shake. I found this out on a Space Marine model, but I gave it another test on this 32mm base to make sure. The bottle paint is much lighter than the spray.

I dug up my lot of Praetorian Imperial Guard models and touched up this Lieutenant model. Finishing this army may be my next project after my Orks. I had hernia surgery recently and while I was in a post-op daze of painkillers, I had this idea for a color scheme for my White Scars successor chapter (or just a home brew chapter.) I couldn't get this scheme out of my head so I took a break from my Orks and worked up this proof of concept model. Maybe remove the chest aquila and add chapter/unit insignia? I need a name too... Starin' Spence always makes intense eye contact whilst eating. I've been on a bit of a hot streak with my Orks the past few games... And I  mean red hot. I'm running Green Tide with More Dakka as my detachments and Take and Hold as my disposition. In my past 3 games, I've won by the end of turn 2. Yesterday I took on my buddy Kyle's Tau and nearly had him off the table by turn 1.5 before we called it.  Green Tide gives me too many bodies that have a 5+ invuln and a 5+ FNP. Then Gaz has his way with what remains of your army after I cowabunga almost everything else forward. I mean, this is the way I've always wanted to play, but between the core ork boys, in an amazing detachment and brutal disposition, I'd have to face a similar army with flamers to counter me. I've been hithering and dithering about restarting my White Scars army and painted this Infiltrator to see if I can pull it off. With the new Armageddon box, I've got a lot of bare plastic that can be a great start to another Space Marine amy, however, I also want to start Crimson Fists, Celestial Lions, Mantis Warriors,  Minotaurs, or create about a dozen other homebrew chapters. Fidgety Emmet is always borrowing tools and never returning them. I really enjoyed this simple conversion. The body and pole are from a runt herder, the head and banner pole from flash gits (or maybe lootas), the power saw arm from nobs or boyz, and the claw from meganobz. This is my new favorite grot in the batch of gretchen I just finished repainting. These fellows, as the title says, are great for holding down objectives and farming command points. The Midwest ConQuest is one of my favorite local Warhammer 40k Grand Tournaments. I attend (almost) every year and usually have a great time.  Due to the lame-duck status of Warhammer 40k 10th edition, none of my usual gaming friends are going and I'll be flying solo. They just want to, "play with the new rules." It turns out, they are the lame ducks! I was tempted to play my Blood Angels, my strongest tournment army, or perhaps my Salamanders, but I thought that since I dont really have a prayer of winning, I should bring something fun. I hope they aren't dropped, but there doesn't appear to be a model in the new launch box. If not, this lad gets promoted to Boy. Also, I've never painted a blue squig before...
