Aeldari Farseer

For a model who scrys the threads of future fates, he fails to cast Fortune on a 2+ more often than not ...  #miniaturepainting #paintingwarhammer #new40k #eldar40k #warhammerofficial #warhammercommunity #aeldari #farseer

Eldar Farseer OOP

I just finished this warlord Eldar Farseer for my Aeldari force and I'm pleased with how he came out. My old eyes struggled with all of those gems though... #miniaturepainting #paintingwarhammer #warhammercommunity #Warhammer40k #aeldari #farseer #eldar40k #spaceelves

Finecast Warp Spiders

Here's a quick, battle-ready paint job on some Eldar Warp Spiders.  They are Finecast models with really rough casts, terrible detail, and enormous mold lines. I was going to try my best on these guys, but my disappointment in their production eroded my urge to paint them. So I just based them, and here we are.  #miniaturepainting #paintingwarhammer #eldar40k #warhammerofficial

Eldar Guardian Test

Here's a single Craftworlds Guardian that was my test model for the army's color scheme. I like the mono white color, it seems far more alien, but my buddy Eli suggested that I paint the face plate black or the helmet another color. I also added some magenta to the armband to tie it to the Yncarne (kind of hard to see.)  What do you think?  #miniaturepainting #paintingwarhammer #eldar40k #craftsworld #spaceelves #aeldari #paintingwarhammer40k

Yncarne WIP

WIP of my Yncarne model after two painting sessions. It was a tough build but I'm enjoying the painting process. There's something freeing about painting an abstract idea, like an energy construct - there are no rules or painting guide; I'm just kind of going for it and I like how it's turning out. I normally don't add basing materials until the end, but I was basing some other models so I just started gluing, and here we are.  #wip #Warhammer40k #paintingwarhammer #eldar #aeldari #yncarne

Yncarne - Tough AF

This model broke me. I've been painting and assembling models for more than 30 years and the Yncarne may be the worst. Not to mention the instructions aren't the best.  I mean, I almost want to give up my Eldar... What's the hardest model you've assembled?  #eldar #aeldari

Las Vegas Open Recap

The last two months have been kind of crazy. I spent a lot of time building, play testing, rebuilding, and painting various armies in preparation for the 40k Championship of the Las Vegas Open. First, I started off with several iterations of my Salamanders Space Marines. I put together the roaming Aggressor mob backed by an Ancient with banner, Captain, Lieutenant. I also had three devastator squads with heavy bolters and missile launchers for those tasty mortal wounds. I also tried a similar version of the list with Gillymon and Ultramarines but I could never quite get the list to take out the Astra Militarium hoard with Imperial Knights. I tinkered and tinkered. I tried Ad Mech, my Khorne rush, and Dark Eldar but I never really felt good about any of the lists so I decided to build an Eldar list similar to one I've seen online. I gave myself about a month to buy, assemble, paint and play test my army. (Note to self: not a good idea.) Alaitoc Farseer 3 units of 5 Dark Re...

2016 Bugeater GT

A couple of weekends back, the wife and I made the trek to Omaha, Nebraska for the Bugeater Great Tournament. I've been to a few tournaments in Omaha before (Bellevue, actually) but this was my first Bugeater. After my last GT, I wanted to change things up and bring a more competitive list, at least what I thought was be more competitive. I brought 3 knights, a batch of Eldar scatter bikes, and a Culexus assassin. The knight's Baronial Court is a nice formation, the Eldar jetbikes put out a ton of firepower and move well, and the Culexus was there for the librarian/daemon shenanigans. Good on paper. My first round was against a fluffy Tzeentch Chaos Daemon army without Fateweaver. My dice were cold, ice cold but I managed to squeak out a victory. I probably would have lost in turn 5 and 6, but turn 7 left me with the win. My next game was almost a mirror match- 3 Imperial Knights and some IG backup. I started off hot and blew up his home-made shield generator. For some...

Eldar Exodites

Combining these kits to make a single Eldar Exodite Wave Serpent could be my most creative modeling idea ever, or it could be my most expensive mistake... But I love the idea of having Wood Elar riding around on dinosaurs, so it's worth the risk. I'll post my results later.
