White Scars Thunder Warrior

I took a break from Orks and worked on my Thunder Warriors project; the Star Hunters, Age of Strife-era White Scars.

Warhammer 40k Ork Trukk

"Drive me close'a so I can hit 'em with me head!" I'm calling it quits on painting the new trukk for my boyz. This usually sprints downfield with nobz on board, then gets wrecked.

Bad News for Deathwing

The new Balance Data Slate was released today for Warhammer 40k 9th edition and my beloved Dark Angels Deathwing list took a beating.  If you don't have the codex, the fourth bullet point was the rule that gave Inner Circle infantry units, like Deathwing Terminators, Transhuman Physiology. Basically, the key feature that most players loved about the list.  Rest in peace, Deathwing, we hardly knew ye. Also, what a crappy way to write that rule?! Why not simply include a sentence that says, Inner Circle models do not benefit from transhuman without use of a strategem? I know 10th edition is supposed to be cleaner and easier to understand, but this does not bode well. I'm not really a loyal Dark Angels player (see what I did there?) so I'll just shift back to playing one of my other Marines armies or orks. I've been day dreaming about a Thunder Warriors army again and dug out some bits to work on conversions. I'm loving the idea of a Age of Stryfe White Scars/Star Hunt...

Sammy Scissor Hand the Ork Nob

Who needs a krump'n? I just finished this Ork Nob for my Deathskulls mob.

New Orks ready for Waaaagh!

Have you ever met an unhappy Ork player? I just finished repainting these three boyz and got them on the tabletop. I've been burned out on the 40k tournament scene, so I dug out my Deathskulls and got in some games with my usual gaming group, The Sunday Morning Fight Club. Man, Orks are so much fun to play!

Battletech Mercinaries Kickstarter

Catalyst Games Lab has recently launched their new Kickstarter for BattleTech: Mercenaries and is smashing those stretch goals like a PPC through a Dodge Dart. As of this writing, Catalyst needed $50,000 to fund the project but with 23 days left in the campaign, they have reached more than $4.5 million! That’s a lot of C-bills.   I jumped in at the Recruit level, but I’ll likely buy a lot of the add-ons when I finally check out. Unlike a lot of other Kickstarters I’ve backed, this campaign has added a ton of cool swag to the stretch goals and it really is an incentive for more people to back the project. There are new maps, buttons, patches, “Salvage Boxes” (blind buy boxes of Mechs), challenge coins, novels, a metric $#!+ ton of new mechs and vehicles, t-shirts, comics… and there are tons of options within these choices to pick your favorite faction, clan, or merc group. Take my paycheck. All of it. Man, it’s a good time to be a BattleTech fan. Link to KS

Winter's SEO Leaves Deployment Zone

In an emotional video posted today, Winters SEO announced that he's leaving Deployment Zone TV. Link to the YouTubes. You can watch his explanation video above and listen to the hobby LEGEND of LEGENDS explain it for himself, but if I can briefly summarize, running a business is hard and the best way forward for Jamie is to go solo. He'll keep producing content for YouTube subscribers and has four tiers of memberships available. I've been a subscriber for Winters for a long time, even before he showed his face or even showed his dice rolls, and I immediately signed up for tier 3 immediately. He's my favorite YouTuber by a mile and I really hope he does well and this is a good move for him. As a former small business owner, I certainly understand where he's coming from and how physically and emotionally draining running a business is and I'm glad I'm out.  Good luck, Winters, you have my sword!
