Painting, or repainting in my case, can feel like a real grind, especially when you have a pile of grey plastic mounting up.  Batches of three models seem to work best for my work flow/patience. More models than that, I feel it's too repetitive, less than that, I dont feel like I'm getting enough done for my time investment. Having said that, I'm still having a blast painting these orks!

This old guy looks like he's shaking his fist at snotlings to get off his lawn.  Within an hour of posting this photo on Bluesky, a 3D designer who follows me, posted a new scult based on my model! I'm so flattered! I mean, I didn't design the original figure, but I'm still gobsmacked. Give this guy a follow or buy something if you're inclined!  Josh Butin 3D

GW has made some cool announcements at Adepacon 2025, including some new models fighting on Armageddon. Strangely though, this didn't include any info on Orks or Black Templars. If all you have is a choppa, everything looks like it wants to get crump't. I took the boyz out for a game against Jim and his tricksy Eldar. It was a narrow loss but I love how the Orks Green Tide play. They are more durable than expected and the Go Get 'Em strategem is incredibly problematic for my opponents. Jim's flop sweat was hilarious because he was afraid to shoot anything... I'm super pumped for my Orks at the moment. After 25 years, I've finalized my ork skin process and Deathskulls blue scheme and I'm enjoying the heck out of painting my lucky blue gits. I can paint 3 Orks in the same time it takes me to paint a single Space Marine so now the volume of painting isn't intimidating.  #Warhammer40k #waaagh #orks40k #deathskulls #miniaturepainting

I got a little 2000AD in my 40k. Some poor Street Judge has been looted and is missing his uniform! 

 Meta? More dakka! I've always enjoyed pirates and I recently took a vacation in the Bahamas and it was hard not to think about playing and painting a pirate miniature game. I doubt my local gaming group would pick up Firelock or another game system, but as I sat on the sand and watched the waves, I toyed with the idea of painting my Orks as Freebooterz.  I'm repainting my old army already and adding more color would be easy enough to take my Deathskulls in a more swashbuckeling direction. I have some conversation ideas in mind and I'm kind of pumped for this new direction.  Lore wise, there isn't any conflict as most Freebooterz are made up of outcasts from other clans. Mine will just have a heavy Deathskull contingent. To that end, I put a little purple on this lad's shoota to give him some freebooter flair.

"Get loot'n or die flying!" I finished repainting this old stormboy from my early days in the hobby. Not my best work, but far better that he looked in his old paint job.
