I just finished these Watchers in the Dark tokens for my Rampant Lions. I've found them super useful in game - and having little Yodas in your army never hurts. Plus, after reading the codex and Heresy novels, I have "fallen" in love the Dark Angels lore - it's now in my top 2 or 3 favorite Space Marine chapters behind Salamanders and Space Wolves.

The Rampant Lions are a Dark Angels successor chapter known for their uncanny resilience and desire to fight battles against foes with superior numbers. Other Space Marine chapters believe the Rampant Lions have a deathwish but also have a desire for a death in honorable combat.  These models make up half of the Bladeguard in my Deathwing list (nee Winters SEO's list) and they are super choppy.  I tend to use them as a sacrificial unit and send them forward to capture the center objective, forcing my opponent to deal with them or have a ton of master-crafted power swords chomping away in their backfield. It also keeps enemy firepower away from my "To the Last" units of terminators. Bladeguard are so resilient in Deathwing, I rarely have to spend any strategems on them and I can save them for my other units.

There isn't much official lore to base these models on, only the phrase, "Nordyc," so I made these simple conversions in a Viking motif. I've done some work on my next project, set in the Unification Wars during the Age of Stryfe. This is my first test for a Thunder Warrior of the 5th Legion, the Start Hunters. This figure is a bench test to see how all of the bits can be assembled and fitted and where I can add more conversions.  This is the minimum amount of converting that I'll do for each model with more armor to be added but I'm pretty pleased!

Fans who read the first half of the rulebook(s) know a few of the highlights of how mankind ended up in the far-flung future where there is only war, but there are considerable gaps in knowledge. Canonically, even the citizens of the 41 st  century don’t know how they got there, and the missing history is very much part of the “fluff” within the game itself.  The burning search for knowledge is the motivation for many characters, battles, and wars within the game.   Many of the well-known mysteries are left intentionally nebulous so that game players can create their own story and add to the vast universe of the game’s setting. The first of my Bladeguard Veterans for my Rampant Lions custom Space Marines chapter.  I have been basically playing (and building) my Rampant Lions around the Winters SEO No Retreat Legends list. Here's the Interrogator-Chaplain for my Rampant Lions custom Space Marines chapter.  He's converted from the Death Watch Ultramarines Chaplain and carries the Teeth of Terra.
