Fun Blood Angels List

For a small tournament next month, I'm thinking of running this fun Blood Angels list.

1 Reclusiarch - Jump pack - melta bomb
27 Death Company - 10 CC weapon and bolter, 12 Power Sword, 5 Power Fist, Jump Packs
1 Furioso Dreadnought - Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod
5 Scouts with Sniper Rifles

It's so crazy it... might... just... work!

The idea came from a forum topic of making the most expensive unit. It was either Death Company or a giant IG blob. In all seriousness, I doubt this list will do well, but it'll be fun.

I don't think it'll stand up against an Eldar Wave Serpent spam list, but I think I might do some damage to most other lists I see in my area. The dread will have to drop and provide some cover for the DC to jump and run their way across the table. I'll try to get the Command Trait of picking night fighting to help out and get some cover saves on top of the FNP.

Salamanders Badab War Veteran

Primaris Marines are great sculpts, but they will never have the soul of the old hand-sculpted models.  The Badab War is my favorite battle in the 40k universe and its one of the reasons that the Salamanders are my favorite Space Marine chapter.  #miniaturepainting #paintingwarhammer #grimdark #warhammercommunity #salamanders #salamanders40k #28mm #spacemarines40k #oldhammer #badabwar #astartes #armageddon40k

Callidus Assassin

This is my newly painted Callidus assassin, Mary Poppin-yourbackfield. She scores points. I hate that I have to play one of these to stay competitive. Yar.

Bad News for Deathwing

The new Balance Data Slate was released today for Warhammer 40k 9th edition and my beloved Dark Angels Deathwing list took a beating.  If you don't have the codex, the fourth bullet point was the rule that gave Inner Circle infantry units, like Deathwing Terminators, Transhuman Physiology. Basically, the key feature that most players loved about the list.  Rest in peace, Deathwing, we hardly knew ye. Also, what a crappy way to write that rule?! Why not simply include a sentence that says, Inner Circle models do not benefit from transhuman without use of a strategem? I know 10th edition is supposed to be cleaner and easier to understand, but this does not bode well. I'm not really a loyal Dark Angels player (see what I did there?) so I'll just shift back to playing one of my other Marines armies or orks. I've been day dreaming about a Thunder Warriors army again and dug out some bits to work on conversions. I'm loving the idea of a Age of Stryfe White Scars/Star Hunt...
